We went to the Yorkshire Rose as it's close to our home and we were excited to eat there as we'd seen the restaurant from drinking in the bar. We were greeted on arrival and everything was great to start, order placed very quickly and starters came quickly and very tasty. Everything after that was terrible, mains came and both lamb shanks were totally overcooked and my wife's was uneatable. Complained to manager and it was brush aside with "i'll tell the cook"! Err that's not good enough. No replacement or money off was offered. I had to complain twice before the message was received. So unfortunate as the place would be great if they listened.. Won't be going back as we left very angry at being ignored.
Have been her many times, always had a fab experience with great food. Was delighted when I went last Sunday to see they had lots of vegetarian options. This is unusual for Sunday lunch in most places I visit. They had no problem making exactly what I wanted. Highly recommended place. A real asset to our local area.
Fantastic place, staff attentive and friendly. Food was gorgeous and great value. I went here with friends and was welcomed by the owner himself, we sat by the fire and enjoyed a drink before being shown to our table. It was busy but we didnt notice a delay in our food arriving, considering we all ordered a variety of meals. Thoroughly enjoyed, would recommend . Looking forward to trying the summer menu and relaxing in the garden! Thank you!
WARNING!!!!! There is utterly no Vegetarian option on the menu and the Vegan option is probably years away. A pleasant enough establishment but I was embarrassed into pleading for a vegetarian spaghetti.....it's all quite expensive.The meal was very pleasant without being exceptional and the waiter was apologetic and actually seemingly surprised that I had requested a vegetarian dish.....any vegetarian dish!!!! It was all very nice when it eventually arrived. I love Italian food and this establishment needs a kick up the backside for thinking that a basic ubiquitous London 'style bar' make over could compensate for a 1970's menu.
